ABOUT US
We’re a successful online film school, founded in 2006 by writer and filmmaker Ela Thier. We moved entirely online in 2018. We now offer online courses and a coaching program. Our ability to build confidence and community among our students is unparalleled.
Our content is fresh, unique, valuable and appreciated. In the mostly bro and cutthroat film industry, we stand out because of our belief in the creativity of every human, and in the significance of artists. We know our audience and their needs, sometimes more than they know themselves, and that’s because we are them.
Our paid ad campaigns are consistently successful. We have an engaged community of over 70,000 email subscribers who hear from Ela weekly, and roughly 2000 enrollments.
We also have proven, automated funnels that send new subscribers to our offers. This makes us well poised to create a successful social media presence. That’s where you come in!
THE WORK
Seeking a social media manager to design and implement a comprehensive strategy to regularly place our content on all major social media platforms, with the goal of directing traffic to our offers.
Responsibilities include:
✦ Go through our weekly newsletter to edit and post image/copy content.
✦ Go through our YouTube channel to create visually engaging shorts for TikTok, YT shorts, and FB/IG stories and reels.
✦ Work with our founder and copywriter, Ela, who approves final creatives.
✦ With time, learn Ela’s voice and style, and become independent and able to take over approving final creatives.
✦ Build systems for moderating engagement across the platforms.
✦ Work with us and Ela to build our YouTube channel for maximum exposure.
✦ Create our thumbnails, headlines, video descriptions for maximum engagement.
✦ Collaborate with our ads manager so that our paid ads campaigns and organic content work seamlessly together.
✦ Collaborate with our Marketing and Ops Manager to create reliable metrics and track the results of the work.
Our Marketing Manager has phenomenal graphic design skills. The combination of Ela’s powerful copywriting, video skills, and prolific content creation, along with our Marketing Manager’s graphic design skills, means that the right person coming in to orchestrate all that into a comprehensive social media plan will lead us to… blow up 💥🔥🚀

Once our social media systems are in place, we’ll want to turn select newsletters into blog posts, and build a robust Pinterest account that brings us traffic on autopilot.

In another year, Ela will be self-publishing several books, and we’ll want a social media plan to publicize them.
More future work! Film release
This year Ela is producing and directing her next feature film. There’s a possibility that we hire you to manage an additional account and work with Ela’s film production company and with our distributor, to help us turn the film into a viral hit upon its release. Ideally, the publicity of the film will grow brand awareness of our school as well.
ABOUT YOU
This is not an entry level position. You’re an experienced, ambitious, and energetic A-player with a proven track record of creating successful social media presence for influencers and personal brands.
Top notch short video editing and video graphics skills are imperative.
TIME commitment AND PAY
We’re looking for a freelancer or agency, and will ask you to send us quotes and pricing for possible packages.
