Film Editing

Made simple

with Ela Thier
Become a powerful filmmaker by learning to edit.

Film editing is not about being techie and knowing what button to press (yaaaawn).

Editing is an art form. It’s about the story telling. It’s turning raw footage into a cohesive story that makes people feel. One frame nudged in either direction, and a scene becomes funnier, more dramatic, more suspenseful – the sky’s the limit.

I invite you to bolster your skills as a filmmaker by learning how to edit. If you love the art of storytelling, then you’re cut out to be a powerful film editor.

FAq's

I assume no prior knowledge and go over all the basics, A to Z. You’ll be able to follow easily, and if you do the exercises in the course and practice what I teach, you are certain to gain the mastery you seek.

This version of the course is largely geared towards beginners, though shadowing me in the cutting room might be super valuable.

As I update the course over time, it will eventually become a multi-level course with advanced editing techniques.

Any and all updates will be available to you – for good.

Consider joining now before it becomes a much more expensive course, and receive free access to all future editions of the course.

I use Premiere Pro in the course, but essential editing tools are more or less the same across all softwares.

I do lay out software options inside the course (paid and free), so you can choose what’s right for you.

The course is available on-demand.

As soon as you enroll, you’ll have access to the entire course – for good. Work through it from anywhere, at your pace, and on your schedule.

  • Lectures & demos: 4.5hr
  • Shadow me in the cutting room: 2.5hr
  • Exercises: 1 day to 1 week, depending on how quickly you work.
  • Interviews with editors: 1hr 45min

You can pick and choose which sections to watch and work through, and in which order. If you’re a beginner, I recommend working through it in order.

Spend 2 weeks with it, or devote 10 minutes a week for a couple of months – your pace is up to you.

We offer a 14-day money back policy.

Spend two weeks checking it out. If you request a refund within 14 days, we’ll return your fee in full. No questions, no hassles.

We only ask that you watch at least 3 units (ie give the course a try), but not more than half the course, or we’ll assume that you found it useful.
